Truth of Drinking Water

Do you know about dead & live water? Yes, bottled water or water stored in R.O tank has no life.

As per Ayurveda water which has no movement or lack exposure to sunlight & air are dead. The great scholar of Ayurveda “Maharishi Vagbhat” says in “Astang sangraha” chapter – 6, even warm water should not be stored.

Every other day R.O industry comes with new innovation & technology.
Some company claims: 100% pure water
Some company claims: 100% clean water
Some company claims: Now added minerals
Some company claims: Reverse osmosis
Some company claims: Now with magnesium cartilage – etc. etc. etc.
And finally they will come with full minerals & serve you same municipality tap water through R.O machine because they want you to spend on your health.

R.O industry & doctors endorse R.O water as healthiest water without giving much knowledge as to how?
Let’s understand the true facts about R.O water.

Minerals: First of all R.O water kills the minerals while filtration process.

Plastic: From filtration to your glass, water passes from many plastic components i.e pipes, storage tank, tap, water bottle etc. Micro contents of plastics get added in your water & slowly these contents spoil your health.

TDS: It means “Total dissolve solids”. Generally people using R.O keeps their TDS level 50-75 which is hypo-tonic & absolutely has less minerals. Study says 250-350 TDS is ideal level for health. Less than 100 TDS is excessive hypo-tonic & imbalances body’s homeostasis which leads many diseases such as heart disease, cholesterol, joint pain, stomach disorders, hair fall etc.

And bottled water which is called “mineral water” earlier & now changed to “packaged drinking water”. Packaged bottle water is also very low in mineral & TDS. Also it kept for many months & slowly micro plastic content dissolved which may lead to cancer.

Plastic water bottle stored in your fridge also dissolves micro plastic content in water & cold water is making you sick. In next post I will discuss about cold & warm water, how cold water is making you diabetic & sick.

W.H.O’s warning statement on R.O water & it’s harm for health is known to everyone. Here is the link for detailed information:

According to Ayurveda our body contains “Panchtatva” i.e Water, Air, Earth, Fire & Space. We are lacking water with life energy in our body which causes many ailments such as thyroid, urinary bladder issues, kidney issues etc. In Ayurveda Quality & quantity of water both matter for health. Water prescription available on social media or by masses are not healthy. Drinking excess water or less water leads to many diseases, so stop following 8 glass per day water & listen to your body. How much water your body requires. Drinking excessive water is not healthy even in thirstiness, drink appropriate quantity not excess.

Also Ayurveda describes many ways to clean water naturally, how & when to drink water, which water is suitable for healthier life. We will discuss regarding this in next post.

Here question arises that, what to do in modern era where there is no source of fresh water everyday.

If you are using R.O then try to keep TDS above 100 & after filtration of water, store water in a mud pot (matka) in summer. Place mud pot in a corner rich with air & sunlight. You will get extra added minerals at no extra cost. During winter or other seasons, you can store water in a copper vessel, stainless steel vessel etc.

if you are using tap water then store it directly in mud pot (matka), copper pot, stailess steel pot etc.

How to purify impure water, try to purify it naturally by boiling the water, with ceramic filter, boil with 15-20 holy tulsi leaves, filtration with coal pieces etc.
